How to prepare
A few things that make the visit quicker and the results more reliable.
- Fast for 10 to 12 hours for the lipid profile.
- Bring a first morning urine sample if possible.
- Take your blood pressure medicines as usual, and bring the list.
- Bring a record of recent home blood pressure readings if you keep one.
- Avoid heavy protein or strenuous exercise the day before, as both raise creatinine.
