Comprehensive care for women’s health, maternity, and gynaecological conditions with expert diagnosis and treatment.
Your health. Our priority.
Most of what makes maternity and gynaecology care good is proximity: how close the theatre, the paediatrician and the scanner are when they are suddenly needed.
- Labour rooms on the same floor as the NICU, so a baby needing help does not travel for it
- Modular theatres on site, so an unplanned caesarean starts here rather than somewhere else
- Continuity through pregnancy, so the consultant at your delivery is one you have met
- Gynaecological surgery offered laparoscopically wherever it is suitable, which means a shorter stay

Questions, answered.
Common questions about obstetrics & gynaecology care at Humayun Hospital.
Can I choose a woman doctor?
Yes. Tell us when you book and we will arrange it. In an emergency the doctor on duty attends, and that cannot be guaranteed.
How many scans will I have in pregnancy?
Usually three routine scans in an uncomplicated pregnancy: dating, anomaly and growth. More are arranged if there is a reason, and your obstetrician will say why.
Is heavy bleeding something I should see a doctor about?
Yes, particularly if it soaks through protection hourly, lasts more than seven days, or has changed from your normal pattern. Most causes are treatable and several are simple.
Does a hysterectomy always mean open surgery?
No. Many hysterectomies are done laparoscopically, through small incisions, with a shorter stay and faster recovery. Whether that suits you depends on the reason for surgery and previous operations.
