Your health. Our priority.
A scan is only as useful as the report attached to it and the speed it arrives.
- Same-day reporting for most studies, so treatment is not waiting on paperwork
- Radiologists who discuss findings with the treating team rather than only writing them down
- Emergency imaging available at any hour, beside the resuscitation area
- The right scan advised for the question, which often means a cheaper one than expected

Questions, answered.
Common questions about radiology & imaging care at Humayun Hospital.
Is a CT scan safe?
It uses radiation, so it is used when the information it gives outweighs that. Doses are kept as low as the diagnosis allows, particularly for children, and ultrasound or MRI are used instead where they answer the question.
How soon will I get my report?
Most X-rays, ultrasounds and CT scans are reported the same day. Emergency scans are reported immediately. MRI and specialised studies may take longer and you will be told when to expect it.
Do I need to prepare for a scan?
It depends on the scan. Abdominal ultrasound usually needs fasting, and a pelvic scan needs a full bladder. You will be told what applies when you book.
Can I have an MRI if I have metal implants?
Many implants are safe but some are not, and pacemakers need particular care. Tell the department about any implant, surgery or metal fragment before your appointment.
